Czech 16

Let’s fight for the Czech film together! Traditional non-competitive section of Brno 16 brings the most interesting movies from the Czech environment. What can a short film in the Czech environment look like? What’s typical of it and what’s different compared to foreign films? We know that creating a short film is a struggle. This year's films also depict struggle in their narratives. A student film from FAMU “A Part” shows that the relationship between siblings can be one big battlefield. Fighting is also shown in an original documentary (also from FAMU), however this time it’s hockey. An amateur experimental film “Persepho” brings us to post-apocalyptic Earth destroyed by an ecological catastrophe, where people fight for their lives. Austerlitz Advent depicts fighting on several levels, such as the Battle of Austerlitz.

Guests 12. 10.: Michaela Režová (director of Štvanice), Tereza Vejvodová (director of A Part), Aleš Zůbek (director of Persepho)
