A television show Steps focused on culture and was broadcast from 1976 to 1980. Among other normalized shows it was exceptional not only because of its content, but also the way it was presented. Presenters Jiří Lábus and Marie Durnová often improvised in the streets and asked people about their opinions on culture, or attempted informal interviews with artists and professionals. Typical for the show were also distinct visuals and sound - handheld black and white camerawork, dynamic cuts, layered sound and captions in between sections.
Jiří Havlíček will present a screening of a selected episode of Steps from an archive 16mm copy.
