Silent but Violent – the Ultimate Slapstick Battles

Films have never really been silent, no more so than in slapstick. This brutal form of physical comedy often featured music to provide the sonic thrills and spills of sound effects, emotion, speech and diversion. This collection brings some of the greatest names of their era and shows them at their most confrontational. From classic pie fights through to pratfalls and crazy stunts, these films are a masterclass in deviousness, cunning and human inventiveness.

Each film is accompanied by new piano compositions performed by Duncan Hendy, a British composer living in Brno. Duncan has had a long relationship with silent cinema and has composed film scores for the Brno Filharmonie with premieres in the Czech Republic.
