WORKSHOP: From Optical Toys to Film

Workshop and projection focusing on the principle of classic animation — pupils from selected secondary school will be able to try out individual optical inventions which preceded the cinematographic ones with the lectors of Animating in Art. They will encounter for example thaumatrope, zoetrope or the flip-book and they will try to make them themselves.

Animating workshop will be accompanied by commented projection during which the pupils will be able to see a sequence of animated films from the beginnings of their history as well as examples of the individual optical inventions on the screen.
