AUDIOVISUAL INSTALLATION: Part One: Petr Antoš, Jennifer Helia de Felice, Beata Spáčilová

Beata Spáčilová is an artist and teacher at High School of Arts and Design, Style and Fashion and the Higher Institute of Conservation and Restoration in Brno. Jennifer Helia de Felice is an artist, musician, and doctoral student at the Faculty of Fine Arts VUT Brno and her dissertation “Performative Intermediation” focuses on interpretations of partitures. Petr Antoš is a musician and he is studying Audiovisual Production and Theatre at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. All three of them are connected not only artistically but also on personal level — for example through their musical project “Opossum, Fox, Butterfly and Whale”, on which they are also collaborating with Tomáš Jenček. In their project “Part One” for the Krása gallery they have decided to approach this space with all seriousness and create a piece where it is difficult to tell whether the visual element complements the sound one or the other way around. Beata Spáčilová created an analog photoprintscreen VJing from a series of prints from her video animation. The photographic partitures were created by chance using expired disposable cameras. This animation is confronted with the sound installation by Jennifer Helia de Felice and Petr Antoš. This project is in its simplicity and composition something of a partiture seeking connections between audio and video installation.
