Petr Hvižď: The Beginnings

Filmmaker Petr Hvižď (8. 8. 1963 - 3. 9. 1999) is strongly connected to Brno Sixteen. He has been submitting his movies since the early 80s and the movie Shadowplay won a Gold medal in 1985. The following Asylum next to the Gold medal also received an Audience Award in 1987. In the same year he also made an intro for Brno Sixteen. A year later he secretly participated with his movie Story of a Sunny Morning which he submitted as Stanislav Křížek and since the late 80s he has been actively involved in the organization of the festival and he helped to arch over the crisis that appeared in the amateur film in the early 90s. His movies belong to the most remarkable amateur or alternative movies of the 80s and the retrospective will commemorate his would-be 50th birthday.
