The year 2020 has not been kind to festivals (amongst other things). That said, the 61st edition of the International Film Festival BRNO16 will – with a little bit of luck – take place as planned, on October 14–17 2020. We are monitoring the situation closely and will proceed in accordance with all given regulations and restrictions to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests.

The topic of this year’s festival is THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Which is where we can find both short film and Brno itself. But all seeming disadvantages have a silver lining, which is why you can look forward to films from Podlachia, Poland, discussions about short film distribution, and games as a part of the off programme.

The festival has received over 1000 films and we have selected several dozens of the most intriguing ones. These will be presented in the main contest and some in the 2nd edition of the Czechoslovak 16. As usual, you can look forward to various short films from all over the world as well as discussions with their authors after screenings.

BRNO 16 will take place in Kino Art on Cihlářská, in No Art on Radnická, and various other spots around Brno.
