Ben Aston

Screen Star of Tomorrow 2015, Ben Aston is a filmmaker who’s work has been described as ‘poignant, hilarious, heart-warming and terrifying.’ His short film HE TOOK HIS SKIN OFF FOR ME premiered at the BFI London film festival and has gone on to be viewed over 10 million times across the internet. His comedy short RUSSIAN ROULETTE won the Jury Prize at Sundance London and went on to compete at Sundance and dozens of additional festivals, eventually premiering through the New Yorker. His diverse body of work includes four vimeo staff picks. He has worked with Film4, Netflix and XYZ Films on his feature slate and is currently in development on an original series for Ink Factory Films. He lives in London with his partner Maria and his tiny adorable dog.

Malvína Balvínová

Yaşar Buğra Dedeoğlu

Jury

Bugra Dedeoglu is a film editor and director based in Antwerp. His work includes the Palm d’Or-winning short Silence (2013). In 2022, he received the Best Editing Award at the Istanbul Film Festival for the feature film Zuhal. He has also been awarded for his editing on short films such as Story of A Job Interview (2017) and You All & I Alone (2022). His own debut short film, Uncle Seref and His Shadow (2014), premiered at the New York Film Festival. His most recent editing work, the feature film Flying Meatball Maker, premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2025. He has also taught Editing Techniques at Istinye University and Ibn Haldun University and has led several filmmaking workshops.

Amrei Keul

Jury

Amrei Keul is co-director of the International Short Film Week Regensburg (Germany). She studied German and Romance languages and initially worked in theater and exhibition production. Since 2018, she has worked for various film festivals, including Alcine (Alcalá de Henares, Spain) and the Five Lakes Film Festival (Starnberg, Germany), as well as guest curator for Interfilm Berlin. In 2022, she took over the artistic and managing direction in Regensburg, together with Gabriel Fieger. Since 2024, she has also been a member of the board of AG Kurzfilm, the German Short Film Association.

Veronika Krejčová

Since 2019, Veronika has been working for the National Cinematographic Center of the Slovak Film Institute as a Festival Relations & Slovak Film Promotion representative, scouting the main European film festivals and markets and connecting them with the Slovak film center. Besides, she teaches Hispanoamerican Literature at the Faculty of Arts at the Comenius University in Bratislava and coordinates translation of subtitles to various languages, when needed. As a Bratislava based cultural worker, she helped to organize different festivals, formed part of the Kapitál editorial board and served as a committee member at the Slovak Arts Council. Now she participates at the Open Culture events, when possible. Very rarely she writes some review, she prefers not to.
