59th festival is coming and it's a fight!

The next edition of Brno 16 takes place between 13th and 15th October in combat conditions. However, thanks to them we managed to get our festival to new beautiful places –besides our cinema Kino Art on Radnická 4– such as Museum of Applied Arts of the Moravian Gallery, and new marketplace Tržnice Brno on Zelný trh. The off-programme will take place in an atomic bomb shelter Kryt 10-Z and Praha/Forum for architecture and media.

This year, the main competition includes 41 short films from all over the world. Most of them are from Germany, Poland, and some from Kyrgyzstan, Finland, Vietnam, or Cyprus. Czech Republic will be represented by two films – an animated short from FAMU "Woo-hoo" and SHIT2028 by an eighteen-year-old Jan-Karel Pavlík.

The motto of this year's edition "It's a fight" is also reflected in the off-programme. Fighting takes place in kung fu shorts from Asia and epic whipped cream battles are fought in slapstick comedies with a live music by Duncan Hendy, a British composer living in the Czech Republic.

It's a fight, so let's join in, or leave it to us and enjoy the best shorts!
