MIDPOINT Shorts at BRNO16!

💚 The 64th edition of BRNO16 is coming up in just two months, and so we have the first program highlights for you. The first partner we present to you is MIDPOINT Shorts, the only complex program dedicated to script and project development of short films in Europe.

This unique program is organized in close connection with the film industry and provides training for creative teams composed of writers, directors, and producers. It combines in-depth script analysis and professional project development to help projects make their way to the screen.

👀 And how does it work?

The teams, selected based on their application, will receive consultation on their script, financial plan and other creative materials, as well as help with their entry into the film industry world. The participants will also be offered two workshops. The first one will take place during the 64th edition of BRNO16, the second one will be held as part of the co-production forum When East Meets West in Italy and will end with a public presentation of the projects.

🟢 Teams with great ideas for a short film with a synopsis ready for the screen can bring their short films to life with the Shorts program. In addition to creative development and dramaturgy, it also offers producer consultation and training, distribution strategies, training in presentation skills (pitching), festival strategies, promotion, financing or sales. Selected graduates of the program then have the unique chance to participate in the Focus WiP (Cannes Court Métrage) platform at the Cannes Film Festival and present their short films in the post-production phase.

💜 The MIDPOINT Shorts team is looking forward to meeting selected film professionals at BRNO16! 😊

🟣 MIDPOINT Shorts is realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Czech Film Fund. The partners of the program are When East Meets West, BRNO16 and the Trieste Film Festival. The program is realized in cooperation with Cannes Court Métrage. The MIDPOINT Institute operates under the auspices of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
