⏯︎ The BRNO16 festival organizes an international short film competition every year. A three-member selection committee then picks 35–45 shorts. The selected films are screened at the festival in front of an audience and the international jury and the international student jury. The festival audience will also give their awards.

⏯︎ Films by teams from the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic can also be included in the Czechoslovakian 16 competition. The selection committee chooses 10–15 shorts which are then evaluated by a 3-member Czechoslovakinan 16 jury. If you submit a Czech or Slovak film to the international competition, it is also registered to Czechoslovakian 16. You don't need a special registration :)

⏯︎ You can submit short films with a maximum duration of 40 minutes and are not older than three years.

⏯︎ Foreign language films must include English subtitles.

⏯︎⏯︎ You can find more information about the registration in the section for filmmakers. If you have any other questions, contact festival dramaturg Jana Glocarová at glocarova@kinoart.cz ✉ You can also send us questions on Facebook.

And we are already looking forward to your movies ❤
